* Jake Delhomme went 11-for-13 for 144 yards and a touchdown pass to Muhsin

* Steve Smith had five catches for 83 yards.
* Davis and Smith combined for 13 carries and 49yards.
* Eli Manning looked strong going 9 for 15 for 117 yards. He will start in
the next Giants’ preseasongame.
* Ron Dayne scored a touchdown and had 63 yards rushing, but was stuffed on
several short-yardage situations.
Atlanta 27, Minnesota 24
* Rookie Matt Schaub looked very good, going 16-for-19 with 205 yards and
three td’s. He is pushing Ty Detmer for the back-up job.
* Vick continues to struggle in the WCO with a 5-for-9, 25-yard performance.
* Dunn had eight carries for 72 yards.
* Culpepper hooked up with Moss for a long TD. He had 124 yards passing.
* Bennett and Smith stuggled against the Falcons run defense.
Jacksonville 14, Tampa Bay 6
* Rookie Greg Jones had 62 yards on 18 carries and appears to have solidfied
his role as Taylor’s back-up.
* Leftwich didn’t have a good day passing completing only four passes.
* Chris Simms continues to have a strong pre-season going 13-for 23 and 104
yards.
Philadelphia 26, Baltimore 17
* Terrell Owens had an 81-yard td reception on a long bomb pass from McNabb.
It was his only catch of the night.
* Buckhalter went down with a sever knee injury and is out for the year.
* Lewis had 39 yars in just eight carries.
* Boller was 10-for-20 for just 97 yards.
* Musa Smith’s hold on the back-up role got tighter with 80 yards rushing.
Cleveland 17, Detroit 10
* Lee Suggs is starting to gain the edge on the starting role with a pair of
touchdown runs and 63 yards rushing.
* Kellen Winslow Jr. made his first catch.
* Harrington was outplayed by McMahon, but he did throw a td pass to Charles
Rogers.
* Kevin Jones looked pretty good with 29 yards on six carries.
Tennessee 16, Buffalo 15
* Chris Brown has all but sealed up the starting job with 61 yards on 10
carries.
* McNair was sharp again, throwing a td pass to Calico.
*Henry got hurt and was replaced by McGahee, who scored a td.
* Bledsoe went 7-for-10, including three to Eric Moulds, who seems to be
coming back around.

* Pennington was 10-for-11 for169 yards and a td pass to Chris Baker. Baker
is pushing for the starting job at tight end.
* Martin had 22 yards on seven carries, while Jordan had 18 yards on six
carries.
* Edgerrin James had 62 yards on just 12 carries.
* Manning was solid going 6-for-10 with 85 yards and a td pass to Bryan
Fletcher.
* Troy Walters broke his arm and is gone for the year.
Cincinnati 31, New England 3
* Palmer was stellar again, throwing for 3 scores and finishing with 179
ayrds passing.
* Rudi Johnson had 76 yards rushing and a td.
* Chad Johnson had 62 yards receiving.
* Dillon had 31 yards on 11 carries.
* Deion Branch (sleeper) had three catches for 55 yards.
* Brady was 8-for-13 with 126 yards passing.
Pittsburgh 38, Houston 3
*Ben Roethlisberger continues to shine this preseason with 132 yards passing
on 8-of-14.
*Maddox threw a td pass to Ward, who finished with 54 yards.
* Bettis scored a td, but Staley still seems to be the guy.
* Hollings struggled with only nine yards on 14 carries.
*Andre Johnson is poised for a breakout year. He had three catches for 48
yards.
Washington 17 Miami 0
* Portis scored a touchdown and carried the ball seven times for 37 yards.
* Brunell looked sharp going 7-for-9 and 79 yards.
* Fideler and Feeley did nothing to distinguish themselves combining for
eight of 17 passes and 77 yards.
*Minor had 15 yards on eight carries. I think Miami needs a running back.
Green Bay 19, New Orleans 14
*Favre continues to amaze going 11-for-17 for 149 yards.
* Couch struggled going 6-for-17.
* Brooks hurt his thigh again and was 7-for-13 with just 44 yards passing.
* McAllister looked good rushing for 40 yards on 11carries.
Chicago 20, San Francisco 13
* Jones looked good with 32 yards rushing. Peterson looks to have the upper
hand on backing him up with 54 yards and a td.
* Grossman completed eight passes but only for 44 yards.
* Marty Booker didn’t play because he was traded to Miami.
* Dorsey played well, throwing for a score and 129 yards.
* Barlow had 19 yards on six carries.
Dallas 21, Oakland 20
* Julius Jones had 56 yards rushing and a td. He will be pushing George all
season for playing time.
* Testaverde looked good completing 13 passes for 124 yards.
* Bryant, Johnson and Glenn combined for 11 catches and 118 yards.
* Collins complete just one pass but it was an 89-yard td to Doug Gabriel.
*Wheatley had 21 yards on six carries and seems to have the starting job.
San Diego 38, Arizona 13
* Brees actually looked like an NFL QB with 172 yards passing.
*Emmitt Smith had 18 yards on five carries.
* McCown had 104 yards on 10 completions.
Denver 19, Seattle 3
* Griffin had 55 yards rushing on 14 attempts. That performance may have
sewn up the starting job for him.
* Anderson, who may have been showcased as trade bait, rushed for 120 yards
and a td.
* Plummer actually completed a few pass to the wide receivers and finished
with 103 yards.
* Hasselbeck was just 2-for-7 and 16 yards.
* Alexander had 24 yards on just five carries.
